広島県では、毎年、ハワイ・北米・中南米の広島県人会及び友好提携先のメキシコ合衆国グアナファト州から、友好交流を進めるために青少年を広島に招待し、交流・体験を中心としたプログラムを実施しています。
コロナウイルスの影響のため、今年はオンラインでの実施を行うことになり、平和学習のパートをPCVが担当させていただき、被爆者の方と共に、平和公園の慰霊碑の紹介や被爆証言を行いました。
被爆者の話を聞くことができるのは本当に貴重な機会だと話をしてくれた参加者が多かったです。
オンラインツアー後は質疑応答の時間があり、学びをより深めることができました。
コロナが落ち着き、沢山の海外の方が広島へ来ることができるようになる日々がくるのを楽しみにしています。
Every year, Hiroshima Prefecture invites youth from North, Central and South America with family roots in Hiroshima, and youth from Guanajuato, Mexico, which has a sister city relationship with Hiroshima, to Japan to engage in an international exchange program.
This year, due to COVID19, the program was held online, and PCV collaborated with atomic bomb survivor Soh Horie to provide a Hiroshima orientation that included a live-streamed tour of Peace Park and hibakusha testimony.
The participants remarked how grateful they were to Soh-san for sharing his painful memories. They asked insightful questions during the Q&A with Soh-san to deepen their learning.
We are looking forward to a future when people from all over the world can once again visit our city. But for now, we are happy for the chance to interact with these students online!
